Paul Allen Homes Awarded Partner of Excellence for Green Building

The only Albuquerque Home Builder, Paul Allen Homes, was awarded the Green Builder Partners of Excellence from Home Innovation Research Labs. Here is what Home Innovation Research Labs (HIRL) are saying about us: In recognition of “outstanding contributions to advancing green building in their communities… we (HIRL) recognize it takes a lot for a company or an individual to ‘roll with the punches’ and persevere with the same level of enthusiasm and excellence in a certification program as rigorous as ours. That is why this year we were compelled to recognize the significant commitment to innovation and leadership in the residential construction industry that some of our NGBS Green Partners have displayed. We are truly impressed and inspired by what these companies and individuals are achieving in the field and the market transformation they are helping to accomplish.”

Albuquerque’s Paul Allen Green Homes has been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center as a top Gold Certified Builder in the United States for 2011. The local company has received the first NAHB Research Center Partner Award, representing the largest number of gold-level “green certified” single-family homes built by a single company in a single year, nationwide.

Out of 258 single-family homes certified gold by the research center last year, 100 were constructed in Paul Allen Homes’ Saltillo Community on Albuquerque’s West Side. The builder also had another 30 homes certified at the silver level.

Building to the standards set by the American National Standards Institute, the six-year-old production company has made a name for itself by building highly energy-efficient yet affordable housing, which on average holds down heating and cooling bills to less than $100 per year, said Paul Allen President Rex Wilson.
